Acceptance

By using Arcado.gg, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What Arcado is

Arcado.gg is a platform that lets you build, publish, and play browser games using AI. Games are generated using a third-party AI provider based on your text descriptions.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. A new account gets 2 free credits, given once per mailbox - extra accounts on the same address start at zero. If you signed up through another player's link, you get one more credit once your email address is confirmed; an account can have only one such referrer, and the bonus is given once.

Credits

Credits are used when you build a game or ask for a change. Building a new game costs 3 credits, or 2 if you choose the chest, which opens no sooner than four hours later and usually within a day. A change costs 0.5 or 1 depending on how big it turned out to be. Playing, publishing and competing are always free.

Credits never expire. That applies to free and purchased credits alike - they stay in your account for as long as you have it.

How many credits an action costs may change over time, for example if the cost of the AI changes a lot. If it does, we say so here and on the Pricing page before it applies. Credits you already have keep their value as credits.

Credits are non-refundable unless required by law. We do not charge you when a build fails technically, and this is decided mechanically rather than case by case: you are not charged if the AI returns nothing, if the response is cut off or comes back as broken code, or if a change can't be applied to your game. If a game we built crashes, you get two free repair attempts for it, with no time limit. A repair that adds a lot of new code rather than fixing what broke is charged as a change. A game that works but that you don't like is not a technical failure and is not refunded.

Your content

You own the games you create on Arcado. By publishing a game, you grant Arcado a licence to store, display, run and promote it on the platform, and you allow anyone to remix it (see below). You are responsible for ensuring your games don't contain illegal content, hate speech, or content that violates others' rights.

Publishing

Publishing is free.

Once a game is published, its code is fixed. Not even you can change it. This protects the people who play it: a score set on your game has to keep meaning something, and a remix is built on the game as it was. If you want a new version, remix it - that creates a new game of your own that carries its lineage.

Everything around the game - its name, description, category and clip - stays yours to change at any time.

To keep every game playable, we may add things around a published game when it is served - touch controls for phones, score reporting, changes that make it run faster, or a limit on how many sounds play at once - without changing how it plays. We don't change its rules, its content or how it scores.

Remixing

Every published game can be remixed by anyone. A remix is a new game belonging to whoever made it, and it credits where it came from: the person who started the tree stays named as its initiator however far it grows, and everyone in between is listed as a contributor. Credit is attached to the game, not to the person, so a name can be taken down without breaking the chain.

Removing a game

You can delete an unpublished draft at any time, and put it back if you change your mind.

A published game cannot be deleted, for the same reason its code is fixed: other people's scores, remixes and shared links depend on it. What you can always do, without conditions, is take your name off it. The game stays in the catalogue as Anonymous, everything built on it keeps working, and it no longer counts as yours. You can put your name back later if you want to.

You can close or delete your account yourself in Settings. Closing it stops you from signing in and keeps everything else, your credits included - we can open it again if you ask. Deleting it is permanent: your login, email address, credits, drafts and profile picture are removed, and your username is replaced everywhere with an anonymous one. Published games stay in the catalogue as Anonymous and scores stay without your name, because other people's records and remixes depend on them.

Acceptable use

Don't use Arcado to create games containing adult content, violence targeting real people, illegal content, or anything designed to harm others. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

We may also hide or remove a game for reasons other than rule-breaking - for example a name that doesn't pass moderation, or a game that breaks the site. A hidden game is not visible in the catalogue or through its link. Where the reason is something you can fix, such as a name, we say so on the game itself so you can fix it.

AI-generated content

Games on Arcado are generated by AI. We don't guarantee the quality, accuracy, or functionality of generated games. The AI may occasionally produce unexpected results.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but can't guarantee 100% uptime. We're not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. Credits are sold as one-time packs - there is no subscription, nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Prices include VAT where it applies.

Right of withdrawal. Credits are digital content delivered as soon as you pay. When you buy, you agree that delivery starts right away and that you therefore give up the 14-day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply in the EU. If a payment is refunded or disputed, the credits it bought are taken back from your account, even if that leaves a negative balance.

Titles on your player card. Original 100, given to the first 100 Kickstarter backers, is permanent for as long as Arcado exists. You can choose not to show your card publicly in Settings.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of Arcado after changes means you accept the new terms.
